About

September 22-24, 2021 at Trier University

This international conference addresses the growing body of research activities which inquire into the discursive and material production of ‘the family’ through organisations and services in education and social work, in relation to the everyday practices of ‘doing family’ among their heterogeneous members. It aims to bring together researchers from family studies, childhood studies, anthropology, human geographies, education, social work and other research areas to foster a transdisciplinary discussion towards research approaches and insights, as well as the conceptual and methodological challenges in researching these relational processes.

Our conference will take place in hybrid format, allowing for both ‘in-person on-site’ as well as digital attendance.

This conference is organized by the Research and Work Unit of Social Pedagogy II at Trier University, in particular Prof. Dr. Sabine Bollig & Lisa Groß, M.A., and Elya Craig & Helena Dimmer at the Conference Office. Further information regarding this department can be found at this link.
